Who this is

I'm Andrei, and I made Rock and Found on my own. Here's what the game and this site collect, and why. If you have a question, email support@rockandfound.com.

The in-game report form

The game has a "Leave feedback" form for reporting problems. Nothing is sent unless you fill it in and press "Send". A report has

  • what you wrote, and the kind of problem you picked
  • your email address, only if you choose to give one
  • a random report number, like RF-7K3Q, that isn't tied to you
  • the game's version
  • details about your computer and the game, such as your graphics card, operating system, memory use, frame rate and settings
  • the game's log file
  • your save file, so I can load the game where the problem happened

Before a report is sent, your computer's account name is removed from any file paths in it. A save file only holds the state of the museum and your progress, nothing about you.

I use reports only to find and fix problems in the game. I don't sell or share them.

Where reports are stored

Reports are sent to a Google Form and stored in a Google Sheet on the game's own Google account. Google stores them for me, and like any website it sees the internet (IP) address a report comes from. You can read Google's privacy policy. Nobody else receives your reports.

How long reports are kept

Once I've worked on your report, I delete it. If you included your email address, I only use it to reply about your report.

Seeing or deleting your report

To see or delete a report, email support@rockandfound.com with your report number. I'll reply within 30 days.

Steam

If you play on Steam, the game uses Steam for achievements and leaderboards, and your leaderboard scores are shown with your Steam name. Valve handles this under its own privacy policy. The itch.io version doesn't use Steam.

The mailing list

Signing up only asks for your email address. You'll get one email asking you to confirm, and nothing more unless you do. The list is run by Kit, and I only use it to email you about my games. Every email has a link to unsubscribe. You can read Kit's privacy policy.

This website

This site is hosted by Squarespace, which may set cookies it needs to run the site and keeps basic visit statistics, like page views. The trailer is shown through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and the Steam widget and the gameplay videos load from Steam's servers. The site doesn't use advertising cookies. You can read Squarespace's privacy policy.

Children

The game and this site aren't aimed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete the information I have about you, or to object to how it's used. Email support@rockandfound.com and I'll help.

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top of this page.
